Bottle Feeding - POA
We sometimes choose to use bottle feeding:
- Orphaned or abandoned puppies: In some cases, the mother dog may die, reject, or abandon her puppies. In these cases, bottle feeding can provide the puppies with the necessary nutrition and care they need to survive.
- Large litters: In some cases, the mother dog may not be able to produce enough milk to feed a large litter of puppies. In these cases, bottle feeding can supplement the mother's milk to ensure that all of the puppies receive adequate nutrition.
- Health issues: In some cases, the mother dog may have health issues that prevent her from nursing her puppies. Bottle feeding can help ensure that the puppies receive the necessary nutrition to grow and develop.
- Increased socialization: Bottle feeding allows breeders to spend more time with the puppies, which can increase their socialization and help prepare them for life as a pet.
Bottle feeding can be a time-consuming and demanding process that requires careful attention and dedication. Puppies need to be fed every 2-3 hours, and the milk formula must be prepared and stored correctly to ensure its safety and nutritional value. It is important to work closely with a veterinarian or experienced breeder to ensure that the puppies receive the best possible care and nutrition.
